Roberto Cavalli
Serpentine
Packaging
The Serpentine fragrance features a sculptural, white porcelain-finish bottle adorned with Roberto Cavalli’s signature golden snake. This central element is designed to be detachable, transitioning from a bottle embellishment into a functional, high-end bracelet.
By merging high-fashion jewelry with fragrance, the design explores a dual-purpose luxury aesthetic. This approach provides a secondary use for the decorative component, extending the product’s narrative by allowing the user to wear a physical piece of the fragrance’s identity.
The choice of a porcelain finish provides an architectural weight to the bottle, contrasting with the warm, polished gold-tone of the metalwork. Each scale on the detachable snake is precision-molded to ensure an ergonomic fit on the wrist while maintaining structural integrity on the bottle. Even when the bracelet is removed, the glass features a tactile imprint of the snake’s form. This integration reinterprets the lifecycle of luxury packaging; instead of the bottle serving as a static object, the most intricate part of the design remains in active use as a personal accessory. The secondary packaging reflects this tactile luxury through a contrasting interplay of textures. The box features a white, scale-patterned texture that mimics the serpentine theme, paired with a smooth, satin-finish golden side. This golden panel is detailed with a debossed snake, providing a subtle, recessed graphic that echoes the iconic centerpiece. In 2026, the collection expanded with a purse spray featuring a functional, wearable snake ring integrated into the golden cap, followed by the launch of the Serpentine Noir flanker.
